GLOSSARY
L-TRYPTOPHAN

L-Tryptophan

How does it work?

L-tryptophan is an essential amino acid required for its role in the production of niacin (vitamin B3)1 and also to convert into 5-HTP (5-hydroxytryptophan) and then into serotonin, a neurotransmitter needed for nerve cell signalling, mood and sleep regulation.2 L-tryptophan helps to control hyperactivity, alleviates stress, reduces appetite, and enhances growth hormone release.3

What results can be expected?

L-tryptophan supplementation helps relieve sleep and mood disorders and may assist in treating conditions such as insomnia, sleep apnoea, depression, anxiety, teeth grinding, smoking cessation, ADHD, Tourette’s syndrome and facial pain.4
