GLOSSARY
L-NORVALINE

L-Norvaline

How does it work?

L-norvaline is a non-essential amino acid synthesised by the branched chain amino acid, L-valine.1 L-norvaline has shown to be a strong inhibitor of arginase, which results in a higher production of nitric oxide (NO) in the presence of nitric oxide synthase and L-arginine.2 As a result of increasing NO production there will be increased oxygen and nutrient delivery to tissues through vasodilation and smooth muscle relaxation, enabling enhanced performance and recovery.3

What results can be expected?

L-norvaline supplementation may assist in increasing the production of nitric oxide which may lead to enhanced exercise performance and recovery.4
