GLOSSARY
L-ISOLEUCINE

L-Isoleucine

How does it work?

L-isoleucine is an essential amino acid that is one of the three branched chain amino acids (BCAAs) used together for muscle building and repair.1 Used independantly, L-isoleucine assists in promoting glucose uptake into cells and usage during exercise,2 as well as being required for haemoglobin formation and energy production.3

What results can be expected?

L-isoleucine is most commonly taken with L-leucine and L-valine as part of a branched chain amino acid formula to assist in muscle building and recovery.4 L-isoleucine’s role within the BCAA formula and independantly, is to promote the uptake of glucose into cells during exercise which may assist in improved exercise performance and reduce muscle fatigue.5
