GLOSSARY
GREEN COFFEE BEANS

Green Coffee Beans

How does it work?

Green coffee beans are unroasted coffee beans that contain high levels of chlorogenic acid,1 which is shown to have antioxidant and glucose stabilising properties.2 Caffeic acid is also present in green coffee beans which has analgesic and anti-inflammatory actions.3 With these antioxidant constituents present, green coffee beans have shown to assist in reducing fat and weight mass through inhibiting glucose absorption in the small intestine which then increases fat reserves as an energy source.4 Green coffee bean extract has also shown to lower blood pressure in those with mild hypertension.5

What results can be expected?

Green coffee beans may assist in weight loss by influencing and modifying glucose absorption and metabolism.6 It may also help to lower blood pressure in those with mild hypertension, and provide antioxidant activity to those exposed to cellular free radical damage.7
