GLOSSARY
D-ASPARTIC ACID (D-AA)

D-Aspartic Acid (D-AA)

How does it work?

D-Aspartic Acid is a form of the amino acid aspartate, and is naturally occurring in the diet.1 D-AA is used as a testosterone booster for infertile men and also for certain athletes as a temporary booster, however these levels are short term, as seen in studies, offering the effect for 7 to 10 days and then returning to normal hormonal levels.2 D-AA causes a release of hormones such as luteinising hormone, follicle stimulating hormone, and growth hormone in the the central brain region, which leads to a minor increase in testosterone.3

What results can be expected?

D-Aspartic Acid may provide a temporary testosterone boost to certain athletes or men requiring fertility support, however further research is needed.4
