GLOSSARY
COPPER

Copper

How does it work?

Copper is an essential trace mineral which is needed for multiple functions in the body such as producing and storing iron.1 It is also required for elastin and collagen synthesis, maintenance of bone, skin and nerves, oxygen transport, melanin synthesis, and energy production.2

What results can be expected?

As a supplement, copper may assist in the maintenance of bone, skin and nerve health.3 Studies have shown that copper supplementation helped reduce bone mineral density loss in middle-aged women over two years, which therefore supports the use of copper for bone health.4
