GLOSSARY
CHOLINE BITARTRATE

Choline Bitartrate

How does it work?

Choline bitartrate is a combination of choline and a salt for better digestive absorption.1 Choline is found within the phospholipid layer of cells and is also known as phosphatidylcholine, or lecithin.2 Choline is important for the health of cell membranes and the synthesis of acetylcholine (Ach), a neurotransmitter required for muscle control and brain function, particularly memory.3 Recent studies have shown the importance of choline during pregnancy due to its role in brain development and reducing the stress hormone cortisol in the fetus.4 Some studies have also linked choline supplementation with improving liver function and athletic performance.5 Lecithin has shown to assist in reducing high cholesterol levels.6

What results can be expected?

Choline is required for the production of Ach which may assist in improving memory decline and muscle control.7 Choline in the form of lecithin, may assist in reducing cholesterol and improve digestive function.8 Supplementation of choline may also improve brain development and stress reduction of the fetus during pregnancy.9
