GLOSSARY
BUPLEURUM FALCATUM (BUPLEURUM) EXTRACT

Bupleurum Falcatum (Bupleurum) Extract

How does it work?

Bupleurum root is used in western and chinese herbal medicine for its anti-inflammatory and liverprotective actions.1 This is due to the high level of saikosaponins, plant constituents that seem to target kidney and liver disease.2 Studies have also shown the polysaccharide content in Bupleurum display gastrointestinal anti-ulcer activity.3

What results can be expected?

Bupleurum may help to improve poor liver function, assist in protecting liver cells against toxins such as alcohol, help to heal gastric ulceration, reduce inflammation in chronic inflammatory disorders – especially autoimmune disease involving the kidneys and liver, and protect liver cells in acute or chronic liver diseases.3
