GLOSSARY
BIOTIN

Biotin

How does it work?

Biotin is a coenzyme and a type of B vitamin required for many roles in the body.1 It is needed for the cross linking of proteins in hair and nails as well as the overall maintenance of skin, hair, nails, sebaceous glands, nerves, bone marrow and sex glands.2

What results can be expected?

Biotin may assist in strengthening brittle nails over a course of months according to some studies.3 Early research suggests that biotin may decrease insulin resistance and diabetic-related nerve symptoms, as well as improving blood sugar levels.4
