GLOSSARY
4-AMINO-3-PHENYLBUTYRIC ACID (PHENIBUT)

4-Amino-3-Phenylbutyric Acid (Phenibut)

How does it work?

Phenibut is similar to the brain neurotransmitter GABA which blocks impulses between nerve cells in the brain.1  Phenibut has anxiolytic and cognition enhancing (nootropic) effects due to acting as a GABA-mimetic at GABA receptors and stimulating dopamine receptors.2

What results can be expected?

Due to the anxiolytic effect, phenibut may assist in reducing anxiety and anxiety-related conditions such as fear, insomnia, depression, tension, stress and post-traumatic stress disorder.3   It has also been used for enhancing cognition, improving memory and learning due to the nootropic properties.4
